Bag a Biking Bargain

Welcome folks to my latest blog.

Hope all's well with you and yours.

Included in this newsletter is Motogp and BSB dates for your calendars. Also I'm talking about the effects Brexit may have on us bikers. More dates for your diaries for events in the UK and pictures from Southampton bike meet. The Rats calendar has also been included with lots of other piccies too.

Bag a biking bargain, what's not to love!

So I guess your wondering why I have so many Amazon products down the side of my blog? Well, I am constantly being asked to look up products and thought this has to be the most sensible way forward.

I decided to add the products down the side of the webpage so that you lovely lot and my hubby can just click on the picture and bag a biking bargain, what's not to love!

Often Jeff has said to me can you find a biker product on Amazon and see how much there charging, well, this way if he asks me again the products are all in one place and all that I have to do is click!

Yes I may get a little commission if you do click on the product and eventually buy it but to be totally honest it's not enough for me to give up my day job or retire on! In fact being totally honest again I have never to date made a penny!

Writing on my blog is for pleasure and to keep my typing speed up, that's what I tell myself anyway.

So, bag a biking bargain by clicking on the links if your interested in anything and it will take you direct to Amazon, no fuss, quick and easy and you don't have to search through the mind boggling array of products on offer, only the biker products that you are after, and me, well I wont be asked to trawl the website to find a product because I have already done the work, convenience me thinks!
๐Ÿ˜‰              ๐Ÿ˜‰                    ๐Ÿ˜‰
Moving on now, at the beginning of the year we went to the Southampton Bike Meet held on the 1st January every year at Southampton City Centre.

The weather was pretty good, cold but dry so the start of our riding year had begun.

What a surprise it turned out to be, loads of bikes and bikers alike all glad to get away from the christmas festivities.

I've included some pictures of some of the bikes for you all to see, definitely worth a visit next year.

Is your bike in any of the pictures, if it is then maybe leave a comment to let other bikers know what the meet was like for you.

This bike really caught my eye. Love the leather seat. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The bike above was also very impressive, very clean, could tell someone had spent hours lovingly caring for it. ๐Ÿ‘†

These bikes below with the heads on the front of the bikes were well different, not sure about the dolly heads though. Bit freaky, maybe that's what the biker has been wanting to achieve. Well, he or she has certainly done that! ๐Ÿ‘‡

It maybe worth putting this bike meet date in your diaries now so as not to miss it this year.

Next up, diary of events for the Solent Rats, a lovely bunch of folk getting out together to ride the UK roads and meet up for a good old chinwag. Hope  you lovely lot like the pictures I have added, some go back to 2016!

๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ“ฐ

Now, I have some information to share with you all relating to Brexit which may affect any holidays in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal, NOTE: in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

  • The UK government is advising that if you are travelling to the EU after the 29th March 2019 you need to use the passport checker to make sure your passports meet the minimum validity requirement to be able to travel. You need to check the expiry dates on your passports in case you might need to renew any of them.
  • I have included the link for the passport checker below:-
  • https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/check-a-passport
  • If you're driving/riding to the EU you'll be required to hold an International Driving Permit. You can apply for this permit from larger Post Offices from 1st February. The permit costs £5.50. You need to request a driving permit at least a month before your holiday.
  • You will also be required to hold a green card which is proof that you have UK car/bike insurance, this can be obtained from your Insurance company
Remember that this advice is relevant only in the event the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

Brexit will not affect the ability of ferries to sail between the UK and the rest of Europe. The Government has also set out that it ants to make no changes to passport controls for travel between the UK and the Continent.

It's worth noting, however, that ports are always busier during the holiday season and it's recomended that you arrive in plenty of time for your sailing, like us I'm sure you all ready do that due to the excitement of getting on those roads abroad!

There also saying that it's always a good idea to check with your ferry operator to assess whether delays will be likely.

Will my EHIC be accepted?
  • The one area that will significantly alter, shuld we have a no-deal exit, is our reciprocal health arrangements with Europe. The European Health Insrance Card (EHIC) allows EU citizens to receive state medical care when they are within the EU.
In the event of a no-deal Brexit, UK registered EHICs will no longer be valid, so you won't be able to rely on this, should you suffer an injury or illness when you're away.

If a deal is agreed, there will be a transition period between 29 March 2019 and 31 December 2020, during which time all EU law will continue to apply in the UK. That would mean you'll still be able to use your card.

Well, there we have it as it stands at the moment. Any changes and I will update you through my blog as and when.

I must next wish Valentino Rossi a belated Happy birthday. Saw the pictures from your party, looks like you had a fab time. Now time to concentrate on getting that 10th win me thinks!
